Carmen: what was your most memorable moment of the day? So many memorable moments…I’ll never forget the wind we had to contend with, or the flat tire on the wagon being pulled by dad’s newly restored tractor, or how cold but warm I was in my husband’s arms as he carried me back to the church from our disabled ride. Life experiences remind me that most times these “inconveniences” make for some of the best and longest lasting memories. Besides that first look from Jon after we said our vows, one of my most cherished moments was when Jon sang to me at the reception a song he wrote for me “This Promise”.

Jon: same question: Seeing Carmen for the first time on our wedding day; Heaven on Earth. Words can’t describe how she looked.

Carmen: What is something you would recommend to future brides planning their wedding? Trust in God and the people around you. The details are important, but don’t loose sight of the most important thing that is the union of you and your husband. Oh, don’t cake on the make-up…really though, trust Vilma, she will make you beautiful.

Jon: what advice would you give future grooms? Do the “first look”, it makes things much easier. We had a late wedding and since we did the “first look” were able to get a lot of wonderful pictures before the wedding and didn’t have to hold up the reception too long.
